Life is hard.
it’s time to get your mojo back.
Go from stuck and Frustrated
to CLEAR and confident—so you can do the damn thing*.
*Live life on your own terms.
How to Get Started:
You can read about coaching, or you can EXPERIENCE it.
Book your first coaching call with me and I will create a life-changing coaching experience for you. We’ll book an hour, but know that I’ve blocked two.
What we’ll cover in the INTAKE:
Your Goals & Challenges: What’s your dream? What’s getting in the way?
What coaching is and What coaching is not: Is this right for you?
Confidentiality: It’s personal business.
It will be either a Hell Yeah! or a clear no.
If it’s a Hell Yeah! I will send you a Coaching Agreement. You will sign, pay, and schedule your first session.

I get it. Life is hard—and it leaves you feeling Frustrated, disappointed, and Stuck.
I’m guessing things aren’t going how you planned and it’s just one damn thing after another.
Lay offs. Divorces. Parenting frustrations and financial stress. UN-inspiration and disappointment abound.
You feel stuck, sad, and lost.
Oof, it is SO frustrating to work this hard and feel this shitty. If you’re like me, you’ve laid in bed at the end of another grueling day, exhausted and depleted thinking…
“Fantastic. I get to wake up again tomorrow, sprint from one thing to the next feeling stressed and frantic, end up too tired to exercise or eat right, become a grumpy zombie zoned out on wine and tv—and do it all again the next day! Is this really my life?” (I wince thinking about it.)
But you know what else I would lay awake thinking about?
Being self-employed. Living in my own home (with a pool), spending my days writing and coaching with free time to do wall balls and squats, read a book on a chaise lounge, and take a walk in the middle of the day. To look back on my life at 90 and think, “I lived the life I wanted—and left nothing on the table.”
You deserve to live your life ON YOUR TERMS.
If you’re not.
if Frustrated, stuck, and don’t know what to do,
Chances are:
1. You have some mental blocks you need to clear and,
2. You could use some tools to be more effective at taking action.
Are you Doing the damn Thing?
"I hadn't historically gravitated towards external coaching because I thought I already had the skills to navigate difficult situations from years of learning and development programs in my tech and finance jobs or MBA program. Working with Sam surpassed my expectations." —Bobbie M. Venture Capital & Growth Equity Investor San Francisco, CA
Life Coaching is the push
to get you
off your tush.
“After just 6 months, I secured one of my dream job offers closer to family, launched a startup with my co-founders, all while making strides in my personal life and health by making ample time for friends, family, exercise, and sleep.” —Manik D. Early Career Tech Sales, Startup Founder. Seattle, WA.
If you have unrealized dreams despite years of effort and wispy idyllic noodling or you’re just going through your own personal brand of hell, 1:1 coaching is the best gift you can give yourself right now.
1:1 Coaching is where you will get the type of one on one attention you need to gain clarity on what you want—and convert it from a dream to a project: so you can create the life you want.
Now I won’t sugar coat it: it won’t be easy. Life is hard and it will be hard again. It’s been nearly 6 years since my divorce and I swear I still shed a sneaky tear every now and then (and that’s okay.)
But you can learn to work with that stuff—those difficult thoughts and feelings. The anxiety, the fear, the “what will everyone think.” You can learn to take effective action in the direction of your wants and wouldn’t that be nice…aka: the life you always wanted to live.
Through 1:1 coaching, you’ll get clarity, confidence, and that personal brand of "je ne sais quoi" oozing from your pores.
You’ll feel confident, fulfilled, and on purpose doing the things that matter most to you, that make you say GIDDY UP and YeeHaw! (Oh, you don’t say that?)
You’ll live your life the way you want to. (Not the way everyone said you should.)
Getting your mojo back = Getting CLARITY on WHAT YOU WANT + TAKING ACTION.
Are you ready to get your Mojo back?
WHAT IS “LIFE” COACHING?
Life Coaching is where we get you mentally fit on the inside
so you can be physically effective on the outside.
****
Translation: becoming effective dealing with your thoughts and feelings UNBLOCKS you to be effective at taking action in the world .
This is how you get ‘good’ at…
doing the damn thing.
That’s the short answer anyway.
Read the long answer here: The Non-Fluffy Answer to “What is “Life” Coaching?”
how does it ‘work’?
In “Life” Coaching, the work, is Thought Work.
Well gee, Sam. That sounds kind of hokey.
Is it? Or is every outcome of your life the result of a thought you had?
*Quick review of what psychologists call “The Behavior Chain.”
Thought → Feeling → Behavior/ Action → Outcome/ Result
Example:
Imagine two…Personal Trainers: Both trainers have the same skills, same resources, same client base available to them. And for both of them, taking a trip to Paris would be a dream come true.
One thinks, “I’ll never make enough money to go to Paris.”
And the other thinks, “I can definitely make enough money to go to Paris.”
Which one is right? You know this already smarty pants: they both are!
Here’s why:
“I’ll never make enough money to go to Paris” → sad, resigned, powerless, and uninspired → continue charging the same rate → Never make enough money to go to Paris.
vs.
“I can definitely make enough money to go to Paris” → creative, confident, excited → raises rates and launches new service → Makes enough money to go to Paris.
It starts with a thought. We work with the thoughts & feelings so you can take effective action in the direction of your desired outcomes—the life you want to live.
Exercises look like Guided Journaling and Visualizations.
Have you really stopped to think about what you want? Why you want it?
Have you really imagined what is possible—beyond the realm of probable? Imagined what it would feel like to achieve it?
Drills look like Learning New Skills to handle difficult Thoughts and Feelings.
Difficult thoughts and feelings get in the way. They stop us from doing the things we say we wanna do.
Fear, anxiety, shame. “What will everyone think?” “What if I fail?” “I’m too [blank.] and not enough [blank].”
Learn how to not get stuck by that. So you can stop not doing the thing you say you wanna do.
Reps look like Questions: Why, Why, Why, Why, Why? (And How? And What? And by When?)
It’s like hockey coach Herb Brooks of the 1980 Olympic team (or at least as the movie Miracle showed it—you should definitely watch that movie btw.): Again. Again. Again…
We go further than you’ve ever been before, so you can know what you haven’t dared to know before: The Truth (capital T). Clarity about what you actually want. Clarity on what to do next.
Strength Training & Conditioning looks like: Questioning What you KNOW to be True.
Seeking Disconfirmation: a fancy way of saying, “How might I be wrong about this?”
By far, this is clients least favorite work (in the beginning). Like first getting started in the gym, you might feel a little awkward, a little sore. It’s also the most powerful skill and leads to the biggest breakthroughs.
When clients nail this—when they get buff in this muscle—they become unstoppable. You don’t get stuck anymore. You get out of your own way.
What you’ll get from Coaching:
CLARITY: You’ll be able to say, “This is what I want. This is my plan for getting it. And this, is what I’m willing to do to get it.”
SKILLS: You’ll learn how to handle difficult Thoughts and Feelings so you can take Effective Action in the direction of your desired outcomes—aka—the life you want to live.
CONFIDENCE: You’ll learn to be an effective problem-solver and action taker, with the ability to break through any barrier.
Is Coaching Right for you?
I work with thoughtful, loving, curious human beings who are committed to learning and personal growth. They’ve worked hard at love and life and have plenty of achievements under their belt but eventually—as with every human being everywhere—something hard comes along, sometimes it's a slow creep, and other times it’s a jolt. Either way, they’re not where they want to be and they don’t feel the way they want to feel.
You may be wondering if Coaching is right for your specific situation. Ask yourself the following questions to help decide:
Do you feel sad, stuck, and frustrated? Alone?
Wish you could figure out “What you want to do next?”
do you know what you want to do, but are too afraid to try? Afraid of what everyone will think?
Did something shitty happen and you’re left in a puddle? Wondering who you are?
If this resonates: Coaching is ABSOLUTELY for you!
Coaching is NOT for you if you…
Want someone to tell you what to do. I will never ever tell you what to do. First of all, How incredibly arrogant that would be! Second of all, you have enough people trying to do that already. I could no sooner tell you what is best for you than I could tell an acorn how to become an oak tree.
Aren’t willing to be vulnerable or try new things. My job is to help you access your truth, the sometimes unpleasant and inconvenient truth—and act on it. If you aren’t willing to share—and you aren’t willing to try, to experiment, to explore; if you aren’t willing to admit your truth, coaching won’t work.
Are looking for overnight success. I won’t promise that and you should be leery of anyone that does.
Bottom Line: Coaching is designed to help you figure out what you want—and get you moving towards it, despite what “everyone” will think.
what to expect.
I require all new clients to commit to a minimum of 6 sessions because that’s how long it takes to lay the foundation for long term success. Most clients see the biggest transformation between 12 and 18 sessions. After the initial 6 sessions, we’ll decide together what feels best.
If you are in the depths of a hellish moment in your life, plan to buckle up for 6-12 months.
I am results driven and coaching is not designed to be an endless engagement. If I do my job right, you’ll transcend our work, learning skills and tools to be able to coach yourself for the rest of your life, or until the next trip to hell hits.
I loathe hyperbole and I don’t make promises I can’t keep. Integrity is my deepest held value and I won’t compromise on it. That’s my commitment to you.

Love Notes from Former Clients
“I want to thank you so much for your time and support during what felt like a very difficult transition in my life. Whenever I would feel down, I felt so much better thinking about an upcoming session with you, knowing that I would be supported by you. The work felt like an extremely effective and accelerated form of therapy, and you are so well suited to coaching people through these types of life changes, having bravely gone through your own! I don't think I would be where I am now without your guidance. LYSM!"
“I can't tell you how impactful your coaching has been over the last 6-7 months. It's been a really challenging year in so many ways but also a year where I've grown the most.
